Self-Guided Horse trekking

Prices are in NZ$ and include GST. Bookings are essential.

We offer (Bring your own) independent horse trekking.

The farm is well tracked and suited to all levels of horse riding.

Karetu Downs cottage has a paddock beside the house for horses and a nearby stable at the homestead yards.

There is ample parking and turning space for floats.

Clear safety instructions along with farm maps enable you to self-guide around the farm.

Full day ride only - $35 per rider
Maps provided. Included a Health and Safety briefing prior to riding.

OVERNIGHT STAY

Karetu Cottage

$220 per night minimum booking two people plus $50 per extra person with horse.

6 or more people $400-$480 per night

Cleaning fee included in price.

Toiletries and linen and towels provided.

All you need to bring is your food.

If bringing your own linen or sleeping bags $40 per extra person with horse.

Paddock available beside the house for horses.

Plenty of parking available for horse floats.

Karetu Woolshed

$60 per person includes a full day ride on Karetu.

Stay in your horse floats and use the facilities in the Karetu woolshed.

Kitchenette with fridge, microwave and hot water Zip.

Toilet facilities in the woolshed.

Shower and toilet facilities beside the gift shop.

Riders are responsible for their horses and must wear appropriate riding gear.

Pay by cash or with credit card (EFTPOS, Visa or MasterCard only) on the day or Internet banking prior to arrival.
